Story, heat and visuals are our editorial scores (visuals judged on Episode 1 frames). Value is calculated from Candy's token prices for this series.
Verdict: A quick, tightly built trap of a story with a very clear hook. Two free episodes let you judge the tone, and finishing the other three costs only 36 tokens.
Behind on Rent, Candy Shorts' five-episode story about a broke tenant and the landlady who holds his lease, is built on a bargain that gets out of hand. Candy's synopsis: broke and three months behind on rent, Jake pays his bombshell landlady "another way", until her equally hot daughter wants the same deal. Now he is trapped between the mother who owns his lease and the daughter who owns his secret.
That last line is the whole pitch, and it is a good one. Two people hold something over him, one with the lease and one with the secret, and he has to keep both arrangements going. All characters are adults.
It is also a story that starts from an ordinary, relatable problem. Plenty of viewers know what it is to count days to the first of the month, and that is what makes the bargain feel like a trap rather than a fantasy.
Candy doesn't publish plots for individual episodes, so the synopsis is the honest limit of what we can tell you. What it does promise is pressure from two directions at once, in a setting where every neighbor, hallway and knock on the door matters.
The start is free. Episode 1 plays on Candy with no sign-up, and Episode 2 is free with a free account. After that, Behind on Rent Episode 3 costs 12 tokens, and so do Episodes 4 and 5. Finishing the series takes 36 tokens, and you can see each price in the episode list near the top.
Premium includes 100 tokens a month, enough on paper to cover all 36. Our price page has the plan breakdown, and the free guide explains what you get without paying.
For a story this short, yes, if the first two episodes land. At 12 tokens an episode, it is a cheap way to see a full arc, and you will know after Episode 2 whether the tone suits you. If it doesn't, you have spent nothing.
It is a real series on Candy, and Candy is the only place to watch it. The series page on candy.ai has the episodes with subtitles in 6 languages, and charges appear under the name EverAI, the company behind Candy.
If you have been hunting for the full episodes on video-sharing sites or forums, or anything marked leaked, here is the plain answer. Those results are partial clips, fakes or scams, and none of them is the actual series. Use the free legal route instead: Episode 1 with no sign-up, then Episode 2 with a free account. New to the platform? Our guide to watching Candy Shorts shows the steps.
We checked three frames from Episode 1, and it looks grounded rather than glamorous. The sets are a small apartment: a narrow hallway with wood floors and a wall light, and a bright room with blinds, a cluttered desk and cardboard boxes stacked against the wall. Daylight does most of the work, and the color is natural and slightly muted.
The camera feels handheld and close, a bit like footage shot on a phone, which suits a story about a tenant living on the edge of his budget. The room looks genuinely lived in. The trade-off is that it is less glossy than the most cinematic series on Candy, so if you want polished neon, look elsewhere. If you want realism, this is a good match. Candy lists no named cast for it, so you are watching the story itself.
This one suits viewers who like a trap with a ticking clock. The money problem is real, the secret is shared, and the premise gives you a built-in reason to keep watching: you want to see how long he can keep both women from finding out. Candy tags it milf and doesn't carry a Spicy label, so expect charged and suggestive rather than the most intense end of the catalog.
It also works well for first-time viewers. The idea is clear in a sentence, five episodes is a manageable length, and the free ones give you a fair trial. It is less suited to anyone who wants cinematic polish above all.
Begin with Episode 1 on Candy. If you want more stories where one choice gets complicated fast, try:
No. Episode 3 costs 12 tokens on Candy, and Episodes 4 and 5 cost 12 tokens each as well. The free part is Episodes 1 and 2: Episode 1 plays with no sign-up and Episode 2 needs a free Candy account. Finishing all five episodes takes 36 tokens in total.
Five. Episodes 1 and 2 cost 0 tokens, and Episodes 3, 4 and 5 cost 12 tokens each, so reaching the end takes 36 tokens. Candy doesn't publish runtimes or episode-by-episode plots, which means the synopsis on the series page is the only official description of the story.
Only on Candy Shorts at candy.ai, where the series has subtitles in 6 languages. Uploads on video-sharing sites, forums or anything labeled leaked are partial clips, fakes or scams. The free legal route is Episode 1 with no sign-up, then Episode 2 with a free account.
Not for Episode 1, which plays on Candy with no sign-up. Episode 2 is free but needs a free Candy account. From Episode 3 on, every episode costs 12 tokens, so that is where spending begins. A Premium subscription includes 100 tokens a month, which covers the 36 needed.
Candy doesn't list a named cast on the Behind on Rent series page, so there is no digital twin or character profile to point you to. What the page does give is the synopsis: Jake, his landlady and her daughter. All characters are adults.
