Story, heat and visuals are our editorial scores (visuals judged on Episode 1 frames). Value is calculated from Candy's token prices for this series.
Verdict: A glossy, sunlit fantasy built on one sharp hook. Two episodes cost nothing, so you can test the tension before spending 36 tokens on the finish. Good value if the premise lands.
The Prince's Last Week Unwed is a five-episode fantasy short on Candy AI Shorts, and its hook fits in one breath. Seven days before his royal wedding, the prince's step-cousin Lady Antonella rides in to watch him say his vows, and she won't let him forget the night they spent together. That is Candy's own synopsis, and it is all we will claim about the plot.
It is a countdown story: a groom with a date, a guest with a memory and a court full of people who notice everything. Candy tags it fantasy and taboo, and the taboo part is the forbidden angle in that setup, a groom-to-be and a relative by marriage who knows his secret. "Step" here means family through marriage only, and all characters are adults.
Read the synopsis closely and the stakes are clear. The prince has a public vow to make in seven days. Lady Antonella has a private memory that could undo it. Candy doesn't say how the week plays out or whether the wedding goes ahead, and we won't guess. That open question is the reason to press play.
The woman at the center of it is Antonella Larrea, a Candy AI character. You can read more about her on her character page.
Partly, and the free part is generous. Episode 1 plays on Candy with no sign-up at all, so you can press play right now and judge the look and the tension yourself. Episode 2 is also free, but it needs a free Candy account.
That gives you two of the five episodes before a single token leaves your balance. If you want the step-by-step route, our guide on how to watch Candy Shorts walks through it, and what is actually free on Candy covers the rest of the catalog.
Making the account is the only step between you and Episode 2. If you stop after it, you have spent nothing.
Looking for the full series for free? It only lives on Candy, and the legal free part is exactly those first two episodes. Everything after that is paid in tokens, and it is better to know that before you start.
Episodes 3, 4 and 5 cost 12 tokens each. Finishing the story therefore takes 36 tokens on top of the two episodes that cost nothing. The full per-episode list sits in the episode list above, and our price guide shows how Candy sells tokens and plans.
Is it worth it? Our reasoning is simple. The first two episodes are free, so by the end of Episode 2 you already know whether the pairing and the pacing work for you. You only pay if the hook has caught you, and the price is flat: 12 tokens for each of the three remaining episodes, no tiers.
We can't tell you how many minutes each episode runs or what happens in Episodes 3 to 5, because Candy doesn't publish either. What we can say is that the series ends at five episodes, so the spend has a hard ceiling of 36 tokens. For a short fantasy story with this much production behind it, that is a reasonable amount to risk.
If you want a test of whether Candy Shorts suits you, this is an easy one to start with. Subtitles are available in 7 languages, which helps if you prefer to watch with the sound low.
The opening frames of Episode 1 look like a costume drama shot on location. One frame puts a rider in a deep crimson velvet gown on a dark horse in front of a stone castle wall, with red and gold banners and flower garlands behind her. Another has two figures facing each other in a busy cobbled courtyard, with bunting overhead and a crowd softened into the haze. A third is a close portrait lit by low golden light, with a silver circlet catching it.
Across the three frames the costume design, the palette of crimson, gold and forest green and the lighting stay consistent, which matters in a short where every shot has to sell the world in seconds. Nothing reads as a placeholder set, and the crowd and banners fill the background the way a real location would.
The common thread is the polish. Daylight is bright and warm, the colors are rich and the grade is glossy and cinematic, with a shallow depth of field that keeps attention on the foreground. The sets read as a festival day in a castle town, which suits the wedding-week premise. For a vertical short, it looks expensive.
This is for viewers who like a period fantasy with a ticking clock. The appeal is not battles or magic. It is the pressure of a wedding a week away and a guest who arrives in time to make it complicated.
Who should skip it? If you want a modern romance or a comedy, a castle and a crown will feel like the wrong costume, and the full series list has plenty of modern settings. If you don't like paying per episode, know that the last three episodes are paid. Candy hasn't flagged this one as Spicy, so our heat score reflects charged tension, not anything explicit. More in the same genre sits under fantasy.
It is legit. The Prince's Last Week Unwed is a Candy Shorts series on candy.ai, which is run by EverAI Limited, and any charge you make there appears as EverAI on your statement. Candy is the only official place to watch it.
You will see searches for leaked copies, full episodes and uploads on video sites. Our honest answer is that none of those are the series. Re-uploads outside Candy are partial clips, fakes or bait for scams, and a site that promises all five episodes without Candy is not offering you what it claims. Don't trade your account details or device security for something Candy gives away at the start.
The free legal route is the one already laid out: Episode 1 with no sign-up, Episode 2 with a free account, then 12 tokens each for the rest if you want the ending.
If the wedding-week tension works for you, two other period stories are close matches. The King's Chambermaid is about a king in a cold political marriage, and Sworn to the Queen sets forbidden touch against the threat of death. For a more supernatural turn, try The Witch Who Made Me King.
